Director of Operations – Security Services

Location: Cayman Islands

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Reporting Line: Managing Director – Security Services

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Operations – Security Services to lead and oversee complex, high-risk security operations across Guarding and Cash Services during a period of operational expansion and increased risk complexity.

This is a senior leadership role requiring deep operational, risk management, and crisis leadership experience, including exposure to hostile environments, serious crime threats, and coordination with law-enforcement and government agencies. The successful candidate will be accountable for operational stability, professional standards, risk governance, and the controlled launch and scaling of cash processing and cash-in-transit (CIT) operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end operational leadership for Guarding and Cash Services
• Lead the phased launch, stabilisation, and risk management of cash processing and CIT operations
• Establish and embed ISO-aligned operational standards, command-and-control discipline, and professional service delivery
• Act as the senior operational escalation point for incidents, crises, and high-risk events
• Strengthen command, control, monitoring, and response capabilities across security operations
• Ensure operational readiness for serious and organised crime, cash-related threats, public disorder, and crisis scenarios
• Provide operational input into commercial solution design to ensure delivery costs and risks are fully accounted for
• Lead, develop, and mentor senior operational managers and supervisors
• Reduce executive dependency by removing day-to-day operational burden from the Managing Director

Essential Experience & Background

Due to the specialist nature of this role, applicants must demonstrate extensive senior experience in complex and high-risk security environments, including:

• 20+ years of progressive experience in security operations, risk management, or military / law-enforcement–adjacent roles
• Proven leadership in hostile or high-threat environments, including terrorism, organised crime, or state-level risk
• Demonstrated experience coordinating with police, government security agencies, and emergency responders
• Senior responsibility for crisis and incident management, threat and risk assessment, and business continuity
• Experience leading large, multi-site security operations across diverse geographies
• Expertise in command-and-control environments, monitoring centres, and escalation frameworks
• Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and international security standards

Professional Qualifications & Certifications

Applicants should hold senior, internationally recognised security and risk management qualifications, such as:

• Level 6 (or equivalent) senior security management qualification
• Physical Security Professional (PSP) or comparable certification
• Business Continuity or Resilience certification
• Formal training in crisis management, hostile environment operations, and Kidnap & Ransom response
• Experience designing and delivering security training in high-risk environments

Work Permit Considerations

This role requires a rare combination of senior operational leadership, hostile-environment experience, and advanced security risk management expertise that is not readily available within the local labour market. Accordingly, applicants with internationally acquired specialist experience are encouraged to apply.

Application Process

Interested candidates should submit a detailed curriculum vitae demonstrating senior leadership experience in complex security operations and high-risk environments. Only candidates meeting the above specialist criteria will be considered.
